YOUR TOTAL SCORE =                                   …………..

Any change in one’s life acts as a stress (e.g. ,marriage, migration, death). It is measured in terms of Life Change Units (LCU). For example, death of a spouse - 100 LCU, marriage - 50 LCU, divorce - 73 LCU. This scale is called Social Readjustment Rating Scale (Holmes & Rahey). By adding LCU in a year, a life crisis score can be obtained. Susceptibility of mental illness increases from mild (150-200 LCU), to moderate (200-299 LCU), to major (over 300 LCU) as LCU score increases.
